This is one of the most amazing and gentle decks that I use and will be the first one I present on our new channel at Twitch.tv/MyTarot .
The Anima Mundi Tarot was actually a Kickstarter my partner had joined. She was so enamored of this deck she actually purchased one of the original hand painted cards. But upon opening the box, I knew that I would have to adopt this Tarot. It was beautiful, each card had been hand painted, using an animal motif. As Megan Wyreweden states, “The Anima Mundi tarot deck is a full 78 card deck – based off of the Rider-Waite tradition, and inspired by the natural world.”
One thing for me is the importance of having some understanding of the person I am going to read for. There are times when the good old Rider Waite Smith deck gets presented, or one of my various TdM’s (Tarot de Marseille), but when I sense this to be a sensitive moment. One where a truth may need to be revealed gently. This is one of the main decks I go to. Sometimes I find that the message using a traditionally deck with stern angry men, or a harsh woman staring directly at you can be off putting, and actually upsetting for some people. But when that message is presented for example, by a magnificent and proud hawk for the King of Swords. Then more often then I can see a calming understanding start to arise, and in a language the person across from me can understand.
With that said, I would like to point out the sad fact that this Tarot deck is now highly bootlegged, with dozens of cheaply made knockoffs. So I would like to implore you to purchase an authentic copy, and help support the artist and creators. I am an amazon affiliate, so if you click on the link from here you will also be supporting the MyTarot.org web page…
